App: Tourch — available on iOS and Android
Developer: Tourch Technologies, Inc.
This page explains how to delete your Tourch account and what happens to your data afterward. You can delete your account directly in the app, or request deletion by email.
Delete your account in the app
The fastest way to delete your account:
- Open the Tourch app and sign in.
- Go to Menu → Preferences → Settings.
- Tap Delete account and confirm.
Your account is deactivated immediately and you're signed out, and your personal information is anonymized right away. You can't delete your account while a ride is in progress or while you have an outstanding balance — finish or settle those first. Records we're legally required to keep are handled as described below.
Or request deletion by email
If you can't access the app, you can ask us to delete your account:
- Email support@tourchgo.com from the address you used to register.
- Use the subject line "Delete my Tourch account".
- Include your registered phone number and full name, and confirm that you want all account data deleted.
- We verify your identity by replying and asking for one additional detail (for example, the date of your most recent ride).
- Once verified, your account is deleted within 30 days, and we email you to confirm.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove or anonymize:
- Your name, email, phone number, gender, and profile photo
- Your saved places (home, work, favourites)
- Your in-app chat messages (rider–driver conversations)
- Your push notification token
- Your Google or Apple sign-in linkage (if applicable)
- Your driver licence, vehicle photos, and verification documents (for driver accounts)
What is retained, and why
The following is retained even after deletion, because we are legally required to keep it:
- Ride records (pickup/drop-off, fare, date) — kept for 7 years for tax and accounting compliance.
- Payment transaction records — kept by our payment processor, Stripe, for 7 years per their financial-services obligations.
- Safety-related records — if your account was involved in a reported safety incident, related records may be kept until the matter is resolved.
Retained records are anonymized where possible — your personal identifiers are removed and replaced with a deletion-tombstone ID so the record is no longer linked to you.
Withdraw consent without deleting
You can stop sharing data without deleting your account:
- Location: revoke in your device Settings → Apps → Tourch → Permissions → Location.
- Notifications: revoke in your device Settings → Apps → Tourch → Notifications.
Note: the app needs location to function. While location is withheld you can't request rides or go online as a driver, but your account stays active.
