This page explains how Tourch sends SMS text messages, the kinds of messages we send, how you give consent to receive them, and how to stop receiving them at any time. It applies to text messages sent to the mobile number you provide when you use the Tourch ride-hailing application (the “Service”).

The messages we send

Tourch sends account-related (transactional) text messages only. These include:

  • One-time verification codes used to verify your phone number when you create an account, sign in, or recover access.
  • Account and ride notifications related to your use of the Service.

We do not send marketing or promotional text messages, and we do not send text messages on behalf of third parties.

How you opt in

SMS consent is collected inside the Tourch mobile app during account sign-up. On the “Enter your Mobile Number” screen, directly below the phone number field, there is a consent checkbox. This checkbox:

  • is unchecked by default — consent is never pre-selected for you;
  • must be checked together with a valid mobile number before the “Next” button is enabled;
  • gates the verification code request — no SMS is sent until you affirmatively opt in.

The consent language you agree to

When you check the box on the sign-up screen, you agree to the following:

“By checking this box, I agree to receive SMS text messages from Tourch — including one-time verification codes and account notifications — at the mobile number provided. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.”

Message frequency

Message frequency varies and depends on your activity. You will typically receive a verification code each time you sign up, sign in, or recover your account, plus occasional notifications tied to your rides. We do not send recurring scheduled messages.

Message and data rates

Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan. Tourch does not charge you for text messages, but your carrier may. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

How to opt out

  • Reply STOP to any Tourch text message to unsubscribe. You will receive one final message confirming you have been opted out.
  • Reply HELP to any Tourch text message for help, or contact us at support@tourchgo.com.

Note: verification codes are used to secure your account. If you opt out of SMS, we may be unable to verify your phone number, which can prevent you from signing in or recovering your account.

Your privacy

We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Your number is used only to deliver the account-related messages described above, through our messaging provider, Twilio.
